Terms of use

Effective October 20, 2026

These terms cover the FuelPilot app, FuelPilot Pro and this website. The most important part: FuelPilot helps you plan, but you're always the driver. Road signs, traffic laws and posted restrictions come before anything the app says.

Agreeing to these terms

FuelPilot is made by David Kulagin ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using FuelPilot, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

If you downloaded FuelPilot from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, Apple's agreement wins for the App Store version.

You need to be at least 13 to use FuelPilot. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you.

Fuel prices and stations

Fuel prices and station details come from outside providers and can be out of date or wrong. A station may be closed, may not sell the fuel you need, or may not have room for your vehicle. The price on the pump is the price you pay. Savings shown in the app are estimates based on the prices we had at the time.

OBD-II adapters

Use an adapter that's compatible with FuelPilot, follow its maker's instructions, and plug it in or unplug it only while parked. Not every vehicle reports every reading, and readings can be missing or wrong. Clearing check engine codes turns the light off but doesn't fix what caused it, and it can reset the readiness monitors that an emissions inspection checks. We aren't responsible for adapters made by other companies.

Records and taxes

The logbook, mileage log, fuel expense report and IFTA summary are there to help you keep records. They aren't tax, legal or accounting advice, and they're only as accurate as your phone's GPS, your receipts and the details you enter. Check them before you file. You're responsible for your own tax returns and filings.

FuelPilot Pro

Your account and content

Keep your sign-in details private. You're responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings › Profile › Delete account) or by emailing us.

The trips, receipts, vehicles and notes you add are yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them to you in order to run FuelPilot, as described in the privacy policy, and for nothing else.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

Maps, search, weather and fuel prices come from the providers listed in the privacy policy. Their content belongs to them, and their own terms may also apply.

Changes to the app and these terms

We regularly update FuelPilot and may add, change or remove features. The service may sometimes be unavailable. We may also update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll update the date at the top and mention it in the app's release notes. Using FuelPilot after a change means you accept the new terms.

Warranties and liability

To the extent the law allows, FuelPilot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties about the accuracy of directions, prices or estimates, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, fuel costs, fines, missed deliveries or damage that result from following a route, price or estimate in the app. Our total liability for any claim about FuelPilot is limited to the greater of what you paid for FuelPilot in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
